About Us
Attributor’s FairShare Guardian is the world’s first web-wide monitoring and enforcement platform. Customers such as The Associated Press, Deutsche Presse Agentur and The Financial Times use FairShare Guardian to identify new sales leads and revenue-sharing opportunities, monitor licensed uses and protect against unauthorized use of their content.
Founded by seasoned entrepreneurs Jim Brock and Jim Pitkow in 2005, Attributor received its most recent round of funding in April, 2008.
Attributor formally launched its service in November 2007 and is recognized as a thought leader across a variety of publisher-centric topics including content syndication, online ad monetization and the importance of transparency and accountability for the online content economy to thrive. Its services are currently available in fifteen languages including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
In March 2009, the company announced the launch of FairShare, a free service for bloggers to watch how their work spreads across the Web. In April of 2009, the company founded the Fair Syndication Consortium, a group of over 1,500 publishers seeking a new syndication model to fully compensate those who create valuable content while appropriately rewarding those who aggregate, republish and monetize it.
