The Press Association Selects Attributor to Monitor Reuse of Its Content Across the Internet
Attributor's First UK Implementation to Uncover Syndication Opportunities for Press Association Content
Feb 25, 2008
LONDON and REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Feb 25, 2008 – The Press Association, the national news agency of the UK and Ireland, and Attributor Corporation, provider of the world's first Web-wide content tracking and analysis platform, announced today that The Press Association has chosen Attributor to provide Web-wide visibility and usage analysis of its content online, marking the first agreement of its kind in the UK.
Attributor’s platform will fingerprint and continuously monitor The Press Association's original text content across the Web and provide insight into when, how and where its content appears across the Internet. Attributor's tracking service will allow The Press Association to tailor its content to online audiences and monitor the impact of new distribution and syndication services it implements. The agreement will also lead to new commercial relationships and partnerships, as Attributor uncovers how different sites can benefit from The Press Association's various content genres.
“Understanding how and where content is being reused is vital to the success of any company publishing online. Attributor's system allows us to monitor where our content is going and in what context it is being used. This helps us ensure our digital services are always evolving, and allows us to maximize the value of our content online,” said Chris McCormack, head of digital development at The Press Association.
“Publishers need Web-wide visibility to optimize their online distribution strategy,” said Jim Brock, Attributor CEO. “The Press Association is a leader in digital content creation and syndication and is an ideal first implementation for our technology in the UK.”
Attributor’s text monitoring service was officially launched in November 2007. The company's most recent agreement with The Press Association builds upon its momentum with several major media companies, including The Associated Press, Reuters and CondéNet, among others. Attributor also provides image and video monitoring services, currently in beta testing.
